New application for Renewal (HMO) Licence

You should ensure you have the following required documents, and can upload copies of them as part of your application:

  • Valid Gas safety Certificate – this must not be more than 12 months old
  • Valid Electrical safety certificate – this must be dated within the last 5 years
  • A copy of the portable appliance test report – this must be dated within the last 2 years
  • Valid Energy Performance certificate – this must be dated within the last 10 years. Please refer to www.epcregister.com to find an assessor or retrieve an existing certificate.
  • Fire Risk assessment – this must be dated within the last 12 months. https://www.york.gov.uk/FireSafetyRiskAssessment
  • A copy of your planning permission, if relevant

Please note that an application cannot be considered Renewal unless all documentation and first fee is paid prior to the expiry of the mandatory licence. Should we not receive these before the expiry of the mandatory licence a New licence will need to be applied for.
